Grassy Creek Center is Together!

Hazel and I made her Mama a birthday butterfly with her little feet.  Hannah loved it!  It was a nice surprise. Linking Up with SoScrappy!  

Made my RSC Challenge block for February--Pine Tree Point in yellow.  Hazel was here at the time so it took a long time to sew this one block!

My friend Andrea sent me this handmade card.  So pretty, I had to share it and say Happy Valentine's Day to all of you!

Finally got motivated and worked on Grassy Creek!

The entire center is together and I am happy about the colors.  Next up is the border.  I have not even started on the strings for the outer border so that will be a bit to get on.

 I also got my Morewood mystery quilt together. May add a dark border it the matching fabric but for now I am calling it done and the UFO for February.  

Red Button Quilt Company and some UFO's are done!

Several years ago Barb and I found a cute Little Red Button Quilt Kit and decided to each make one.  That led to making one of these cute things each year!  They are fun little quilts.  Some use my scraps, and others were little kits.  

This one is really small.  

I finished up the quilting and binding on this one the other day.  No masterpiece (those hearts, lol) but fun to make.  I decided on this colorway instead of just reds and pinks because I already had the log cabin done and left from the itty bitty blocks.  Pattern is free on the Red Button website (at least for us on the group).

                                                  

I also decided to call this my February UFO (instead of starting a new quilt) so I got all the blocks made for the Morewood Mystery.  Then I did get them all into a top.  I just ironed it and forgot to take a picture before putting it away.  I need to drag it back out.  I am happy with it.  May add the darker fabric as a border, but will think on that!

Also decided to quilt and bind this one and call it January's UFO.  Otherwise I would have been starting another new one.  

I guess I should get back to Grassy Creek!

 

Mystery Progress Continues--and rejoining the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!

Stopped in to see Hazel last week.  She loves her tummy time!  Learned how to play Sylvion and it is my new favorite solo game!  

Grassy Creek's reveal came out....paused from it and....Sewed up the clue for Morewood Mystery, looks like candy.  Next clue in a month so it will be waiting.  

Today I sewed online with Dr. Kathy, Becky, and Barb...had some issues with the Pine Tree Point Quiltville quilt....I decided to make one block a month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge since I have missed doing it the past few years.  

Lots of ripping...I learned to start from the trunk and sew upward for best results, and to put in my floating strip before the aqua!  Also should keep to more pink reading fabrics and not those with too much background!  Linking up with the RAINBOW SCRAP CHALLENGE!

Also cut and trimmed all of my clue five Grassy Creeks...the strips you see are all leftover that I cut to a smaller size.  They will find their way into something.  The HUGE roll is yet to be cut up and corners added before I can go on to the reveal clue (which has about five clues in it if you ask me!).  

 

More Mystery Pictures

Here are the fabrics I picked out for the Merry Mayhem New Year's Day Mystery.  This one is going to be a medallion and there are lots more fabrics in it...so hopefully I have picked well.  I think BJ and Becky plan to make this one again this year, and Barb and I got our fabrics all cut the other day so we are set for the pre-sewing clue that comes out around Christmas.

Here is the Morewood Mystery for this month.  They turned out quite nicelyand all my clue together below are looking good!

 Today I will work on Grassy Creek's clue.  More hourglasses!

All Good Things November!

Hazel is as happy as we are for a female Vice President!  Herstory in the making!  There were some tears at my house.  I hope our country starts coming together again soon.  

Still reading the Once Upon a Book Club boxes.  Some of them I resell when I am done with them.  They are a bit pricey but I really enjoy them so I am going to keep it up for now.  The Halloween Spooky box above was really good and I will find and read more y that author.  The Halloween Sweet box was too corny for me though it did keep me entertained!  Kathy surprised me with coffee and a pumpkin scone from down the street too!

I finished up the mystery I was doing with BJ.  I LOVE how it came out.  Bug and Sunshine were happy to model on it for me.  

The completed stockings!  I made way too many but all will have a good home soon!

The churn dash is for Hazel.  The hand sewn hexies (was supposed to be a doll blanket) finally got a home in Jay's stocking!

I added two more rows to this Easy Breezy and Friendship Star quilt top today but no new picture.  Sunshine likes it!

This is the Morewood Mystery's next clue.  Did the yellow flower like blocks and made the purple HST's this month.  Now that will sit til after Bonnie's next mystery I am sure.

Hannah and I took Hazel to the orchard (or at least to the store there) and we bought apples for eating and for baking.  I tried my hand at making apple pie for the first and last time.  It did not quite turn out right though it was good and edible it just was not quite right!

Hazel is a happy girl and I am trying to get as much time with her as I can.  I have waited way too long for her!

 Looking forward to making Grassy Creek  Quiltville Mystery as always.  I have been creating a Pinterest board with color options but am still undecided.  Are you getting in on that fun?  Info on the blog and it guarantees to be a fun time!

Chunk Churn Dash, Easy Breezy and a Whole Lot of Other Stuff

I pulled out my leftover blocks to see what I could use to make a bunch of Christmas stockings for the step grands, honorary grands and grands.  I have lots of stockings in progress now but no pictures yet.

Found these churn dash blocks left over from I do not know what in my bins.  Could not find another project with this size churn dashes on my blog so no idea why I made them.  I need to make at least one more in order to complete a tiny top....or make more so I can have a baby size or something.  

I also made two more soft books and brought two (one is a duplicate) over to Hannah and Jeremy's house for Hazel.

We visited Hazel last Tuesday night and I held her for a long while.  I am going to see her tomorrow again.  Cannot get enough of this little face!

BJ and I have been doing a lot of sewing on camera.  I did the next clue for the Morewood Mystery and now have to wait for another month for the next clue!

Three of my four Chunky Churn Dash baby quilts are quilted (by me) and bound!  Pretty happy with how they turned out and the time quilting them went fast while chatting with quilting buddies online.  

We turned the heat on last Friday night...Wisconsin is in the 50's!  Arizona is still over 100.  CRAZY!  I made there Halloween bags from panels that Barb gave me.  Put them in a box with a bunch of other stuff and sent them off to the Ohio grands.

Speaking of cold...Kathy asked for handwarmers so I made us each a set.  We will be using them on the dog walks soon!

I also sewed up the Easy Breezy blocks until I ran out of friendship star blocks to go with them.  I will need to make more and then I can grow this one.
 As you can see I was all over the place in my sewing but I got a lot done!  I also made simple ornaments for the grands from the Scrabble tiles.  

Endings and Beginnings!

Got some flowers for my fifteen year anniversary with Kathy.  Put them in a depression glass pitcher and have been enjoying them all week.

Finished City Sampler---almost six years to the day from when I did the first block (according to my Facebook memories!) and am super happy with how it came out.

I followed one of the book layouts even though my colors did not always match those in the book exactly.  Came out alright!

The past two years have had us doing lots more board games and recently I have discovered solo gaming and have been enjoying that.  There is a group for everything on Facebook!  Cleaned and reorganized my shelf this week.

The next Morewood Mystery clue came out and within a few hours I sewed my hst's and packed it up to wait for the clue next month.

Yesterday I quilted and bound my Garden Party tableunner.  Hung it up in my sewing room.  Super happy with this one!

Meanwhile BJ asked me to do a mystery with her so I picked out these fabrics and we got them cut last night.  We are sewing today!
