Simple Whatnots are not so Simple for Me!

I used the Eleanor Burns Quilt in a Day ruler to make my flying geese (in the wrong size but we won't talk about that) and in looking over the directions I saw that I am supposed to be cutting a notch out (as above in the picture) to help them lay better.  All this time I have used this ruler and I do not remember ever doing this (though I might have then just randomly forgot and stopped doing it!).

I also managed to make the pinwheels in the wrong size.  This sewalong (Simple Whatnots III) has a page of directions for each clue and those directions refer you to a page in the book.  Of course the technique is in the book but we are to disregard the size (at least most of the time) and with my brain fog I cannot seem to get this right.

So here are the parts with the correct size pinwheels.  I redid them in the right size.

And here is Barb's progress.

So here is my Simple Whatnots mystery so far.

Barb's progress.
Kathleen Tracy decided to do a tiny Fourth of July mystery on her facebook group so I cut that out (Barb too).

I forgot to put my May reads on the blog so better late than never.

Sewing with Friends!

Kathy and I and Hazel got a great picture outside last week.  Everyone is smiling!
I worked on the second clue for the Kim Diehl Sewalong Mystery.  Oops.
I had to fix it twice before I was happy...did not line up right the second time.
Here it is with the next clue which was sawtooth starts.  There is another clue out (pinwheels) which I need to whip up this weekend.  Hazel is on her way here to spend the night for the first time so we will see if I get time to sew during her nap.
Here is clue two of Soul Mates.  And below Clue one and Two.

Barb and I sewed with Becky on Thursday (we set up another sew for clue three in two weeks) and worked on our Soul Mates.  Here is Becky's.

All six of Becky's done. Barb is still working on hers.
Barb's Stars.

Barb finished up her clue one of the Kim Diehl sewalong too.

And her clue two.  Oops she flipped around her geese!

All fixed.
Barb and I also are both making a tablerunner from a magazine pattern.  Here is my top sewn up yesterday.  I want to make a bunch of birthday tablerunners so I started with this "easy ish" one to see if this would do.  Matching up all those squares is not as easy as it appears.  I do like how it came out though it is bigger than I envisioned.

Soul Mates with my Sewing Buddies!

Soul Mates clue one is done!  Barb and I sewed with Becky on Saturday afternoon, and we managed to complete our clue one already.  Here are my fabrics again.

Here are my block A's.  I am pretty happy with them.

Becky also decided to go with blue and brown.  Looking forward to seeing how our different fabrics in the same colors turn out!
Here is Becky's block A.

Here are Barb's blocks in Quilt of Valor colors.  This will be gorgeous too!

These gorgeous blocks are Becky's Ruby Jubilee aka Amythyst Jubilee.  She and I and Barb are enjoying this one too!  So glad I have far away friends to sew with as this is my main social life!

I did have my first real outing in over two years.  My daughter got us tickets to go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the Musical.  It was a lot of fun.  She dropped me at the door and I found a bench to wait on til she parked and came in.  The walk in was fine and we had great seats and she even put me on an aisle (I hate to be squished especially by strangers).  The group next to her did not show up so we had a nice chunk of space to ourselves.  She was planning to pick me up but I felt up to walking to the car since the way in was so easy.  I could not have walked in and out as it was a bit of a walk and slightly uphill over a bridge to the car but it pushed me to about what I could do so I was happy with it.  Feel alright today so I do not think it was too much (if too much I sleep all the next day).
I started LDN (low dose naltrexone) four days ago and am super hoping it will be the miracle I need to lose at least some of the fatigue I deal with daily.  It is good for both MS and ME so I have hope.

Hodpodge!

On Easter we went to Hannah and Jeremy's.  I got a semi good picture of Hazel and I...she tends to not want to pose when I have makeup o...
