Quilt in a Day!

Tonight at Nimble Thimbles we had Pat Knochel from Quilt in a Day (she is Eleanor Burns' sister and sounds just like her!).  She was a lot of fun and we had quite a crowd.  She told us the story of the mystery quilt that they did with tv shows and guest quilters.  I am going to have to check it out.  No time like the present--here is the link to some information on it.  I am happy I will have something else to watch while quilting, there are lots of goodies on their site which I have never really explored.

This is the mystery quilt.  Really fun how it all came together--cannot believe I missed this mystery!

Pat brought lots of quilts to show us, but this one was my favorite of the night.  It is called Color Wheel and it super simple to make but really stunning to look at.  I will add the pattern to my Christmas list!  She said the pattern was hot off the press and we were the first group to see this quilt.  How fun is that!

Also loved the leaf runner!  I really need to get to making those maple leaves I have been thinking I want to do!

Terri saved me a seat (in the first row!) since I was coming in late from work and I arrived just in time for apple treats.  I ate my own and some apple slices but there were some seriously good treats there!  I met a new friend Andrea and Ann (whose son and daughter in law are Deaf and I used to work with the daughter in law!) and saw several of the gals from quilt camp.  Deposits on our next quilt camp start next week--already looking forward to Spring!  It was another fabulous quilty night.

That sounds like a great evening. Thanks for the link: I've now subscribed to the YouTube stream. I'm with you on the colour wheel quilt; it's really beautiful.

Quilt in a Day, and Bonnie Hunter......you and I would get along perfectly fine! I watched the mystery last year, and wanted to join in, but, didn't have the time, or means. I love watching the QIAD videos on youtube!
