Cruise Day Tuesday!

 We sewed all day Tuesday with a break for lunch.

 Still working on our flowers.  I treid to get around to meet people, but maybe met a little more than half! At the airport on the way home we randomly wound up next to two gals who had been with our group that we never really talked to the whole time!

 Denise gave Bonnie some artwork, so thoughtful.  Bonnie had never been gifted art and really liked it!  I had a bloody mary!

 I tried to eat healthy, see!

 Hexies are coming along too!

 Becky, me Gail and Alice managed to get in a trip to the hot tub when it was not crowded too!

 We found Shrek on the way back to the sewing room too!  Becky has her PJ bottoms on (top was in the room as was mine).

  Alice had hers on too so we grabbed a picture with Bonnie!  She did not have hers on--after all it was an anniversary trip for her and Dave!

 Becky headed off to bed after open sew and Xenia, Maureen and Carol and Cynthia and I went to see the 80's dance party and the Battle of the Sexes.  We stopped for a drink along the way, I had sangria.

Then it was bedtime all over again!

Cruise Day Monday

Monday we were supposed to go to Coco Cay in the Bahamas, but the ocean was too riled up so we could not tender in.  We did some exploring of the ship in the morning (and that is when I met Xenia actually, I think!) and then at 1 PM we headed down to the conference center on level 2 to start sewing on Garden Party!

She borrowed Kathy's (Cathy?) board (I really need to make one of these!) to show us how the little flower blocks go together.  This was really a fun block to play with, I cannot wait to get back to them!

This is the view of the 5th floor Promenade.  Spent lots of time walking across this to get from classroom to food or room. Starbucks is down there too.

For formal night we dressed up and found some other gals to wait to go to the dining room with.

Bonnie and Dave ate with us for dinner and she and I tried this cold soup which was good!

I mostly ate off the healthy entree menu, but I had to have duck!  It was delicious!

I could not resist the lemon merengue pie but it was tiny so I did not feel too guilty!

After dinner we got some full body shots with the ocean behind us.  So happy with how I look compared to 20 months ago!

Becky is looking great too!  AND it was her birthday so..she had a birthday drink!

We found a cute little doggy on our bed at bedtime!  I also found time to get my hexies done from Sunday and Monday.

After dinner we had a sit and sew with Bonnie.  She brought her current hexie project to share. It is a stunner!  I may just be enticed enough to join in on a longer term hexie project.  Some of the gals were telling me about one and I have to check into it.

Here are the gals learning hexies.  Bonnie bastes hers with one thread, I glue baste.  For the size hexies we used she said 12 stitches per side and to start three from the end and work to the edge then back over those to the other edge so none of your knots are at the end of the hexie.

After that I went to a show with Becky--lots of others went too--including Bonnie and Dave.  This one was a musical. It had modern music with fairy tale characters.  Really cute, for example for Little Red Riding Hood they sang "Hungry like the Wolf" really fun.  I did not know all the songs, but it was fun.

Cruise Arrival Day!

 I kitted up twelve little hexie flowers so that I could make one each day of the trip and here is the first one I did on the plane.  Becky and I found our room 8401 on the eighth floor of the ship.  As you can see the beds were pushed together into one, but they did separate them for us while we were at dinner.

 I am standing next to a tiny closet and the door to a tiny bathroom.  They are pretty ingenious with storage options to help out with the small space!

 Every night we would find the days activities and such on our beds.

 Bonnie found me before dinner the first night!  So good to see her again--it had been too long!

 Becky and I explored the upper levels of the ship (rock climbing wall, mini golf, other golf, wave rider, etc.) and took some pictures.  It was all breathtaking.  I cannot believe all the options that the ship had!

 We did a little impromptu sit and stitch with our new friends Alice and Gail!  And then Xenia found me!  She reads my blog and had commented to me she was going on the cruise but was a no reply blogger so we had not connected before the trip (we created a facebook page for the cruisers we could find ahead of time) and it was great to meet her!

 

 After dinner we had a meet and greet with Bonnie, Mary Ellen and Scott.  Fifty quilters raring to go!

I had SEW much fun on the Quiltville Carribean Cruise 2015!

The cruise was FABULOUS!  We had SEW much fun!  I met several gals who read this blog and that was really awesome.  I also met some that I read their blogs!  Everyone was Bonnie's #1 fan along with me!  I have tons of pictures to comb through and add but here are a few from getting on the ship and the first view out the window from the Windjammer (buffet on floor 11).  We saw the Disney ship sail off before we left too.

Here is the group of 50 quilters (also had 18 spouses, friends, etc. travelling with some of these gals) all at once.  I did the stairs on the ship and averaged about 60 floors a day!  It was really the trip of a lifetime!  More to come on this cruise when I get time!
