Celtic Solstice and Packer Solstice Update!

Linking up to Bonnie!
Kathy got two blocks made on Celtic Solstice.  She doesn't have very many of clue five done so she will be going back to that so she can get it done.  Hers is going to be a beauty!
Here is mine with a blurry picture, but I got the white borders on with no problem.
I then took great time and care to get the pieced borders on.  Of course, after I took the pictures and posted them online I realized that I MESSED IT UP!  The top border is facing the wrong way despite my best efforts!  Luckily I am really an expert with my seam ripper and I will be remedying that.  In other news I am trying to decided on an outer border fabric.

I was really thinking I would go with the football helmets in picture number one, my key to my colors says I should go with lime, but since it is a Packer quilt I want to go with picture number 3--a darker green.  I don't have enough of one fabric in the right color left so I either need to shop (bummer, I know) or see about piecing together some darker greens.

I wish that I could take this outside in the sun for a picture, but the sun has already set so this is the best I can do.  I wrinkled it up a bit climbing up on a chair in the corner.  I am so over the mood with Packer/Celtic Solstice!  Thank you Bonnie Hunter and Quiltville!

I do like the darker green border, maybe the football helmets could go on the back? Congratulations on getting it together so fast. What a fun quilt to cuddle up with and watch the big game.

Yep definitely door#3 Angela! Too bad you have to shop……….
Love both yours & Kathy's, I think this is one of Bonnie's better mysteries, so much going on with the shading & hues.
Mine has to wait to go together till I get back to Phx.next week but I am sewing clue#5 today.

I like them all so how about a scrappy border??

I like the darker green border. Cute as the helmets are, they are rather distracting; the dark green pulls it all together and turns the attention in towards the quilt top itself. But then I'm not a sports fan.

I like the darker green for the border, but the lime green looks nice too.

I really like how it has come together! The yellows make the circles more subtle, but they there when you look. Very nice!

Your Packers Solstics is awesome! I still think you should go with the helmets for the border! LOL
