It's My Birthday!

Today is my birthday and it was a good one! June gave me this quilter's walking foot for my machine after I borrowed hers and loved it! It sure is nice to have a friend with the same machine. I have already used it on several quilts and really think it makes quilting easier. I feel like I won the lottery with this thoughtful gift. Thanks again June!

DJ let me pick out what I wanted from my favorite online shops. So this is what I got from Green Fairy Quilts (who can't be beat on FAST shipping. I am still waiting on the other shop, and this one got here on Thursday!) I had to have some of that gnome fabric and will use it with some other gnome stuff I have.

The other thing I really, really, really have wanted for a long while is new flooring in my quilting studio. The carpet was looking bad and our shampooer broke and well, it was time. So on a whim last night we decided to go get the stuff and get started. You may recall a post three years ago or so in which I complained about putting in flooring and I know I said NEVER AGAIN, hire someone Angela, hire someone...but well never say never. Coleman was a big help and Randy also pitched it for a few hours yesterday and all afternoon today. DJ worked the hardest, longest...and I tried to be helpful.

We had to move everything (including the half built in desk/countertop) into the bathroom and bedroom in order to work. We still have the trim, edging and doorjams to go, but the floor is done and we even had time to meet Christine and Stephanie (two terp friends) for dinner at the Spaghetti Factory which was fun.

So all in all it was a great birthday! My two Wisconsin kids called me and we gabbed awhile and I will get together with my Mom, Dad, sister and brother next weekend when Mom is feeling better. I got a ton of birthday wishes on facebook and some texts too. Happy Day!
