Chinese Auction and Amy's Passions BOM for March

Laura actually won these huge monthly blocks but passed them on to me...I am not really sure what I will be doing with them, but I love the March one so it is on my design wall now! Thanks Laura.
The first half of the auction I didn't win anything and was a little bummed but it was fun all the same. Then suddenly I started winning and won four separate auctions. (For those of you who don't know, a Chinese Auction is one where you put change in take out container and then if your number is drawn you win--if you choose not to put the fifty cents in and they call your number, you don't win and they draw another number). I went through the entire haul and this is what I kept...this is all punch needle stuff. I have never tried it before but thought I might eventually so I bagged it all together to save for a rainy day (and it is raining in AZ today, lol!).

I also won this already done quilt! It is made of flannel and is quilted. It is really long and comfortable! I love it! I am sure one of my boys will wind up with this one--Mac really loves flannel so it may be his soon!
I am already a counted cross stitcher and there were lots of patterns and even a complete kit for cross stitch in my stuff. I especially like the counted cross stitch that looks like quilts in the top left. I will be making that one for sure. I used to cross stitch ALOT when the kids were younger and have all I need to keep doing it, but go in spurts with projects lately. There is also a little Australia heart kit...I should mail that off to my Aussie buddy--or make it and send it off :)
There were also some cool quilting patterns and an embroidery pattern and needle holder as well as an OLD book which had some cool patterns in it that I could see using for quilting even though the book was for something else. Most of these went in the give away category...so when I sign up to give away a prize on my online group someone else will get these patterns in hopes that it matches their tastes better than mine!

The only piece of fabric I won was this Halloween panel. It is cute and I am not sure what I will be doing with it..oh hey, you can see my freshly painted toes (I got a pedicure on Friday!).

Kathy cut up my Roundabout Schnibbles pattern and two of my Amy's Passions BOM blocks...so I sewed up this Double Friendship Star Block first...went together fabulously. That red fabric was one I won from my NewQuiltingClub group awhile back and I am happy it went so well in with these!

This block was a little harder to do but not bad at all. This one is called Scrap Happy. I have eight of these BOM blocks done now...coming together quickly! Despite the rain, we are grilling out tonight...steak is marinating and sweet potatoes are in the oven. I was apparently in a cooking mood because I whipped up meatloaf for tomorrow night and put an extra one in the freezer.

Wow, you were busy! I love the Christmas quilt, that's definitely a keeper. Your blocks for Amy's BOM look great...Now, just call me dumb but I still don't understand the Chinese thing. This sounds like something my small group would like but could you email me and give me a little more directions. I'm not understanding when you put your money in, before or after and how do they know you put your money in...
my email is lkalexander2005@yahoo.com. thanks so much, Linda

Friends All Around!

I added twenty more blocks to Friends All Around.  It is now big enough to go on the back of the couch for a summer quilt.  I think the top ...
