2015 Plans!

If you read my blog even semi regularily you know that I am a finisher.  I don't leave much for the UFO pile and have been known to finish up ufo's for others.  I sometimes put things away for a bit, but they find their way out and get finished in good time!  This year I am looking forward to lots of fun sewing and starting (and finishing) lots of great stuff!
I know I will be starting Happy Scrappy Houses from Quiltville next week Thursday!  I am so excited to see Bonnie Hunter again and pick up some more tips and tricks from her! I need to get prepped for that this weekend!

I will again be participating in Angela's Rainbow Scrap Challenge!  This past year I really enjoyed doing the RSC Sampler:

It isn't quite a flimsy yet but looking forward to getting it put together!  Meanwhile, this year Angela has come up with a new challenge (in addition to or in place of picking your own block to make in the rainbow of colors all year)!  This year we will be making this Sawtooth Star tutorial and adding in mini blocks for the center of the star.  This really appeals to me because I am in love with both the Quilty Barn Along and the House blocks I have seen with other blocks in them!  So I am for sure making those blocks each month--we are starting with blue!
Amy over at Amy's Passions has also asked if I wanted to make some RSC blocks in one of Bonnie's patterns--Betty's Choice and an alternate block she comes up with to pull them all together so we could trade some blocks.  I LOVE that idea too, so of course I am in!  I am always up for starting another Quiltville inspired quilt!

I also love small quilts.  I have done the Year of Schnibbles several times and belong to the Kathleen Tracy SmallQuiltTalk Yahoo group and often make the quilts suggested there.  I found another blog (and bought the book the gal recommends) in which a challenge is issued each month for a small quilt!  I am thinking I will join in on at least one each month from either the yahoo group, Another Year of Schnibbles group or Huckleberry Stitches Small Quilt Challenge each month.  The Yahoo group's first challenge this year is the Disappearing Four Patch--just make a mini.  I have made that block before--it is quick and easy.  I donated most of them.

Schnibbles hasn't announced the January project yet--maybe tomorrow.  Info on Sherri and Sinta's blogs.  They don't always use a Schnibbles pattern but

The first challenge at Huckleberry Stitches is Box of Chocolates (picture borrowed from Huckleberry Stitches blog). Looks like a fun one!

So far that is all I have on my agenda--besides finishing up Grand Illusion, Ooh Rah! and the Classic Meets Modern BOM.  Oh and two blocks a week on the Tula Pink City Sampler.

What other fun monthly stuff are you participating in that I should check out?

Nice projects--love that Tula Pink City! (You can finish my "The One I Didn't Like" TOIDL for me hahaha-anytime. ) Actually I got it into a flimsy --and it was a BEAR to sew--all those exposed seams along the edges--yikes! I had to have a glug of wine after that LOL!
It is the only one on the "Flimsy Rack" waiting to be layered.
hugs and keep on sewin' Julierose

Great projects to work on. Although I want to finish up a number of UFO's and work on a number of new projects. I'm going to take my time this year and enjoy the journey, putting no pressure on myself to get anything done or to start everything I love seeing on the web. Hugs

You have a busy year planned. I like the Betty's Choice block. It will be fun to watch your progress. I have a Disappearing Four Patch set of blocks in red (a UFO), but I am twisting them a bit differently. Maybe your activities will inspire me to finish up this UFO.
