Wicked Indigo!

Last Thursday night Kathy and I went and saw Wicked!  A few years ago she gifted DJ and I tickets but didn't get to go herself.  I thought it was time she got to see it too. It was great again!

Sewed up my indigo log cabin bitty blocks today.  Just in time for the next month's pattern to come out.  There just doesn't seem to be enough time for sewing these days.  Not sure if it is my work and exercise schedule or what but just less time that I can sew somehow.

Here are al the bitty blocks so far.
We have a wedding shower and wedding coming up soon (and another wedding after that) and the couple loves green and gold (but not like Packer fans, lol) so I found three of Kathy's leftover Celtic Solstice blocks and added borders to it so we have a table runner for the shower.  I found fun backing fabric and now I just need to get it quilted!
Last weekend we met up with Ros and traded out Orange Crush for Grand Illusion.  I got the binding attached to one side tonight.  Tomorrow I hope to finish it off.

And I caught up on indigo for the RSC.  Here is Mr. Roosevelt's Bow Tie and Road to California.
All three of this month's indigo blocks. Linking up with SoScrappy for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.

Indigo Sunday!

I sewed up two blocks for the Nimble Thimbles Block Party today.  Kind of fun to work in batiks since I have been hoarding them but almost never do anything with them.  They gave us the center fabric and we were to add anything batik to it.

Here is the RSC Betty's Choice in Indigo.  One for me and one for Amy.  These blocks are still super fun to make!  Linking up to SoScrappy!

And here is the first of the indigo RSC Sampler blocks--this is bullseye!
Challenged myself to do a 5K on my elliptical tonight.  Took me 52 minutes--normally I do 30.  Pretty proud of myself since I could only do two minutes on the thing when I first started!

Catching Up on the Happenings!

My oldest son moved back to Wisconsin to be with his girlfriend a few months ago and they decided to get married.  I was unable to take more time of work to go back for the wedding (was just off work twice and am going on a cruise in October) but I attended the wedding on Skype.  I looked like heck because I had just finished Jump Pilates and arrived at work when I got to see it.  This was my view! Here are all the folks that went to the courthouse.  They had a party after at Famous Dave's and then headed to a bar.  I skyped with them there after work too.
Here is Coleman with his bride Chelsea and my daughter Hannah and son Mackenzie.

Tried super hard to get to 100 pounds down last week.  Got up at 5 AM to go hiking before it got crazy hot.  117 around here lately! This picture is me with my leader Joelle (her last day leading) and I was so thrilled to get to 100 with her!  Only took me almost 18 months, but hey I got there!

In some quilty news...a few weeks ago Tuesday my friends Becky and Kathy and I presented a Bonnie Hunter Quiltville Palooza at our Nimble Thimbles meeting.  We brought tons of quilts and tops as well as binders full of patterns, books and pictures.  We talked about the scrap user system, leaders and enders, mystery quilts, social media and anything else we could think of related to Bonnie Hunter.  It was a lot of fun!

I really haven't much been in the mood to sew lately at all.  Not sure what is up with that.  I have been reading alot and haven't started on my indigo for the August RSC sampler or Betty's Choice blocks, or on the log cabin bitty blocks!  Hopefully something will happen tomorrow!

Finally Some Sewing!

I had a baby shower to go to this weekend so Kathy and I finished up this eye spy and got it all tied and delivered...mid baby shower!  I hope Esther and Elliot's baby loves it and the book I gave them.
I also whipped up another Wild and Goosey block and put the last two rows on...not sure if there will be borders on this one, but I think it has enough blocks!

This one has been in progress for over two years!  Love it!
We got some of the family together to play mini golf.  It was fun but HOT.  Note to self, play mini golf in Arizona in every season but summer!
I cut out a few more Lil' Crumblers...haven't decided if this will count for Bonnie's Tumbler leader and ender project or if I need to make some from all colors for that!
I did some Skype sewing with Barb (and Kathy eariler) and paged through my books to find something for the Nimble Thimbles President's Challenge.  We have a red fabric and two little thimbles we have to use to make a mini quilt that shows what our guild means to us.  I have already made three of the above quilts (from my dad's shirts) and want to make two more--one for me and one for my Uncle Rick so thought I could make a red cross and call it good....but nope not for the challenge.
I thought about making this little heart quilt and using the red in a heart, but then I found this Turkey Tracks and decided this was the one!  Barb says I should call it "Making Tracks to Guild."

Here are the fabrics I picked out for that so far.  Progress anyways...it is due in December so I have plenty of time to get it done.

Old Town Quiltville Mystery and More

Just wanted to share the game gifts I crafted for my honorary daughter who lives in Norway.  Rachel is very appreciative of anything I send ...
