Super Saturday and into Sunday!

Yesterday was quite a busy day!  I got up and went to Pilates Jump (two days in a row) and then went to a cool summer salads cooking class, got a therapeutic massage in order to possibly help my migraines, and then had a meeting with Becky and my sewing friend Kathy (we are presenting a Bonnie Hunterpalooza at our guild in August), and then last minute decided to go on a 3 mile hike with Becky, Megan and Ray.  This is Usery Wind Cave Trail--this is now the third time I have done it and it is the most challenging hike I have done still.  It gets really steep.  This group goes fast so it was a great workout.  My legs were killing me before I started but it felt good to do it anyway.  I am finally down 95.2 pounds and really working to get to that 100!

The day wasn't done after that, Kathy and her hubby Chris met up with Becky, Kathy and I for B.A.D. Bingo.  It is tons of fun and we sang and danced and bingoed the night away!
This afternoon (yep I slept ALL morning!) I got the red Betty's Choice blocks done for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge I am doing this year.  One for me and one for Amy!
These blocks just are so happy and make me smile everytime I lay them out!  Five more months to go!  More sewing for tonight!

Rainbow Scrap Challenge Sampler 2015

I finally got back into the quilting studio and though it doesn't seem like much I have spent about five hours working on the cutting and sewing for the alternate blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge Sampler for 2015.  I still have PLENTY more to go but hey, I got row three all into blocks anyways.  I have quite a bit more to do to get caught up for July too--where did this whole month go?  The color is red, and I just pulled it out (haven't touched it yet).  I need to get to the blocks for this month and to the Betty's Choice in red.  Hopefully tomorrow night or Sunday.  Meanwhile, I will go ahead and link up to SoScrappy for once when I get a chance!

PUP Challenge

At my Nimble Thimbles Quilt Guild meeting tonight we had our annual PUPS Challenge.  We brought in three Poor Unfinished Projects and shared why they weren't finished and then the group voted on which one was our challenge to complete before the following July meeting.  I am SUPER STOKED that they picked Talkin' Turkey!  I have eleven blocks done (goal is 24) and in the past month I have done the string piecing for these blocks because I was hoping it would get picked.  Lots of work left to go on the blocks, and the border too.  So excited to get this one back out again!  For those of you looking for the pattern, the block can be found in Quiltmaker’s 100 blocks by 100 designers vol 5 and the full quilt pattern is in Bonnie's  "String Fling."

Not chosen were Playing with Jacks and my not yet started Quilty Barn Along.

Sea You at the Beach!

No sewing has been going on at my house because we have been on vacation in Mexico.  My parents rented a house and had us, my brother and his oldest son and my sister come stay.  My parents and Ben stayed the whole ten days, and the rest of us went up the first weekend and came back again as our schedules allowed.  It was Miramar beach in Rocky Point and the shell collecting was phenomenal!  I got awesome shells for me, all three of my kids and Randy too.  I even got one seahorse skeleton!
We did a little drinking (some did more than a little), lots of swimming, sunning and reading.  We played games and I read half of "Story Thieves" aloud to my nephew which was fun!
A friend of my sister's parents have a website and they rent out several houses.  There were very few folks even over the fourth of July weekend--since it is a private beach we felt like we were almost completely alone out there.  I would go back again in a minute!  I will get back to sewing soon though, I promise!

Old Town Quiltville Mystery and More

Just wanted to share the game gifts I crafted for my honorary daughter who lives in Norway.  Rachel is very appreciative of anything I send ...
