Grassy Creek Clue Three, Grandbaby and More

Took me two days but I completed Grassy Creek Clue three.  Looking forward to tomorrow's clue.  

My brother and his wife sent us this little tree which is supposed to promote healing.  It is so pretty and goes well on the bookshelf right by my favorite little hedgehog from Margarite!

I wish this ornament still worked...it made the most ANNOYING cheep, cheep, cheep, CHEEP, noise which I begged to listen to as a kid.  It was on my Grandma Char and Papa DeLos' tree.  They always hid it at the back, but I always remembered it and would look for it!  Not sure if it can be fixed but I will always have the memory of it.  I need to find something equally fun to put on my tree so Hazel can do the same in a few years!

I see Hazel about twice a week. We usually get together for the Packer games and I try to get over there or have Hannah stop in here another day each week.  She is changing so fast!  She has already rolled over many times, though it is not a regular thing yet.  She holds her head up SO well!  Loves her tummy time and her unicorn!  I got to hang out with her yesterday for a few hours.  I read her Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  She loves to look at pictures in books already too. She has found her voice and has started making more fun noises too.  Here she is on her eye spy quilt.

I am participating in my FB solo group's 12 Days of Christmas Challenge.  Today is day four and I played Sagrada solo for the first time.  I like this game solo and with others.  So pretty and it varies somewhat each time.  

 

Grassy Creek Clue Two

Clue two for Grassy Creek is complete.  Tiny little hourglasses.  I went with the old rotary cutting method and with Barb's help we figured out the Math wrong.  I did each step all the way through and it was not til I got to the put the HST's together to make the actual hourglasses that I realized I had made TWICE as many as I needed!  So I stopped at that step with half of them and am crossing my fingers they come up in a future clue (HAHAHAHHAHH!) but if not, I will use them somewhere.  Barb has her fabrics picked and sewed clue one all the wrong size!  She picked all of them off the paper and now has to resew them.  She has more patience than me!

Made more face masks.  These two are for Jeremy and Hannah.  I am working on Geese on a String in between Quiltville clues.  Have about a hundred geese completed now.  Taking my time and doing hem correctly.  

I had to make my Gingerbread house without any of my favorite nephews this year.  It was partly together from the last time we had it out and I think that made it even harder to make!  Anyway it was a fun past time while listening to my audiobook.

Have really gotten into solo gaming.  Here are my favorites so far.  I am currently addicted to Mint Works which was a print and play freebie.  I am using tiny white buttons for the "mints" in the game.  I did not have an altoid mint tin so I put it in this time from my mom.  I can also play this game on my phone (much faster) but of course I prefer the actual game in my hands. 

Not a great picture, but had our holiday meeting for Quilt Guild.  We had a show and tell and I shared my Quiltville Idaho Square Dance Christmas quilt.  

 

More Mystery Pictures

Here are the fabrics I picked out for the Merry Mayhem New Year's Day Mystery.  This one is going to be a medallion and there are lots more fabrics in it...so hopefully I have picked well.  I think BJ and Becky plan to make this one again this year, and Barb and I got our fabrics all cut the other day so we are set for the pre-sewing clue that comes out around Christmas.

Here is the Morewood Mystery for this month.  They turned out quite nicelyand all my clue together below are looking good!

Mysteries and More Mysteries

These are my fabric choices for Grassy Creek along with the cards I am using them for of Bonnie's.  So where she has orange I have dark blue, etc.  I went with what I have though I LOVE her colors this year.  

Clue one is all ready except I should trim the dog ears off tonight.  Next clue comes out tomorrow already!  I love this time of year as I have so much to sew and have a high motivation to do it.  With my fatigue it is nice to feel PULLED out of bed even for awhile.  

I made some hand warmers for Coleman and his crew for stocking stuffers.  Really on a budget this year with me barely working.

Used my leftover churn dash block to make a tiny pincushion too.  I put it out with my handwork in the living room.  I am enjoying sitting in my new lazy boy rocker and stitching on my hexies.

I realized I posted about the same Halloween box twice...there were two different boxes and I though I was telling you about each of them but nope..the same one twice.  Anyway this was the next one "The Midnight Library" and I had already listened to it but liked it so much I went ahead and reread it.  I discovered that while "listening" I miss A LOT!  I do too much other stuff while listening (right now I have on an audiobook while typing this for example!) so I was glad I reread it.  Had only been a few weeks too so not like memory faded.  Good book and great gifts.  I really should not splurge on these boxes (though we are reselling some of them) but I need all the good mail days I can get right now.  That is the highlight of my day.  Covid is getting to all of us!

I got to see Hazel three times this past week and I enjoyed every minute.  I am happy if she is sleeping in my arms or smiling at me!  She rolled over already (at 8 weeks!) and has now found her hands and can bat at the toys over her head purposefully.  Brilliant, of course, lol!

For Thanksgiving the kids stayed home so since they are our circle we went to their place.  Hannah is a vegetarian and Jeremy is a trained chef (works in IT now but loves to cook) so he wanted to cook dinner.  We cooked a turkey at home Tuesday and spent Thursday morning making pasties with the turkey, sweet potatoes, potatoes, and a little stuffing.  That way would would have our wine gravy to bring over and lots to freeze to eat with our pasties.  We also brought canned cranberries (I am the only one that eats them) and pumpkin bread and pumpkin pie. Hazel slept though all but the end of dinner!

Kathy and I took a road trip about thirty minutes away to get this Seven Wonders Duel game used at less than half the price of retail.  Met a nice gamer guy and I tried the game out before she packed it up for Christmas!

In between clues I kept busy by sewing more string blocks for Geese on a String.  I have quite a few made now!

I also made a little twister.  Have not done one in awhile and usually Kathy helps me (she was working on Frolic) so I had to cut my twist squares and keep them organized one by one but I did it.

I also made some more capes.  Sent two to Norway for the honorary grandsons and one for Saxxon the step great grandson in Ohio.  Hopefully they will all love them.

 Today I am sewing the next clue for the Morewood Mystery.  I cut all the clues for Merry Meyham's New Year's Day mystery the other day and another day did for the FB group's New Year's Eve mystery so I currently have four mysteries in progress.  I do love mysteries and think it gives me an extra motivation to get on it before the next clue comes out!

Harley, Houses and Hazel!

Really enjoyed my Spooky Halloween Box this year.  I resold it but will read more by that author!  I made a bunch more masks for Christmas gifts.  I have more time and fabric than money so getting creative as always!  This style for my oldest son and his step son.  I did not take pictures of most of them. Thinking I may do a few more too now that I have a giant thing of elastic!

I finally put together the BQ2 pattern for Rachel and Bryan.  They wanted a "Harley" quilt and this was the best I could come up with after years of searching for just the right thing!  It went together fairly fast and I have leftover fabric too.  I bought most of it and the panel at the quilt show not long before Covid since they had a model one made and I knew I had finally found the right one...even if I had to add to my stuff to move across country.  It still needs a good pressing and a backing made, but I did make the binding already.

I have been making a house a day since the start of Covid.  Finally put them into blocks so I could see how big it was getting.  I have another block about done since this picture.  

So hard to believe Hazel is 8 weeks old already!  We were over at their place Sunday for the Packer game and I got a video of her copying her mom sticking her tongue out a few times!  She is supposedly way too young for this, but she was not doing it til Hannah did it!  I grabbed the camera and caught it.  She is such a happy baby and my daughter such a good momma already!  She reads to her and plays and practices tracking her eyes left, right, up, down!  So fun to watch.  Her daddy is great with her too and considering he had NEVER changed a diaper jumps right in and does what needs to be done.  

 

All Good Things November!

Hazel is as happy as we are for a female Vice President!  Herstory in the making!  There were some tears at my house.  I hope our country starts coming together again soon.  

Still reading the Once Upon a Book Club boxes.  Some of them I resell when I am done with them.  They are a bit pricey but I really enjoy them so I am going to keep it up for now.  The Halloween Spooky box above was really good and I will find and read more y that author.  The Halloween Sweet box was too corny for me though it did keep me entertained!  Kathy surprised me with coffee and a pumpkin scone from down the street too!

I finished up the mystery I was doing with BJ.  I LOVE how it came out.  Bug and Sunshine were happy to model on it for me.  

The completed stockings!  I made way too many but all will have a good home soon!

The churn dash is for Hazel.  The hand sewn hexies (was supposed to be a doll blanket) finally got a home in Jay's stocking!

I added two more rows to this Easy Breezy and Friendship Star quilt top today but no new picture.  Sunshine likes it!

This is the Morewood Mystery's next clue.  Did the yellow flower like blocks and made the purple HST's this month.  Now that will sit til after Bonnie's next mystery I am sure.

Hannah and I took Hazel to the orchard (or at least to the store there) and we bought apples for eating and for baking.  I tried my hand at making apple pie for the first and last time.  It did not quite turn out right though it was good and edible it just was not quite right!

Hazel is a happy girl and I am trying to get as much time with her as I can.  I have waited way too long for her!

 Looking forward to making Grassy Creek  Quiltville Mystery as always.  I have been creating a Pinterest board with color options but am still undecided.  Are you getting in on that fun?  Info on the blog and it guarantees to be a fun time!
